" WHOI team seeks clues to predict ocean quakes "

HBN, GEORGETOWN, Guyana, Fri., Dec. 31 (2004): President of the Republic of Suriname, Dr. Runaldo Venetiaan, who from tomorrow will assume the chairmanship of Caricom, has issued a call for continued cooperation among member countries in 2005.

Venetiaan promised the Caribbean Community will deliver on the promises of creating the Single Market, while continuing the efforts in the establishment of a Single Economy.

And he said, “The inauguration of the Caribbean Court of Justice will be of significant importance, for it will provide legal security to the members of the Caribbean Community within the context of the Revised Treaty of Chaguaramas.”

The new chair also promised that Caricom will work in many other policy areas, such as foreign policy coordination, external economic negotiations, the fight against HIV/AIDS, disaster management and preparedness, to create an environment in which “our societies and economies can effectively address the challenges posed.” – Hardbeatnews.com
