" The Goose Story "

As we move into 2005 let us reflect on the Goose Story

Science has discovered tha as each bird flaps its wings, it creates uplift for the bird immediately following. By flying in a "V" formation, the whole flock adds at least 71% greater flying range than if each bird flew on it own.

Whevever a goose falls out of formation, it suddenly feel the drag and resistance of trying to go it alone, and quickly gets into fromation to take advantage of the lifting power of the bird immediately in front.

When the lead goose gets tired, he rotates back in the wing and another goose flies point. The geese honk from behind to encourage those up front to keep their speed.

Finnally, when a goose gets sick, ar is wounded and falls out of formation, two geese fall out of formation and follow him down to help and protect the stay with the fallen until it is either dead or able to fly. They then launch out with another formation to catch up with the group.

And as a communty what does this tell us:

  1. Unity is strength, encouragement boots achievement. People who work together and build each other up will reach their goal quicker and easier than if they work alone.
  2. Do not lose sight of the goal
  3. Take turns at the various jobs.
  4. Stand by each other no matter what.

Let us focus on the four points listed above and us them in 2005 to help build a strong community.
