On November 10 (2005), the High Commission for the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, located in Ottawa, Canada, will formally open a conference and exhibition centre on the first level of its Chancery building at 200 First Avenue, Ottawa (Canada).
The objectives of the conference and exhibition centre, which came about as the result of efforts by High Commissioner, Arnold Piggott, are to facilitate the hosting of receptions, meetings and seminars, to heighten the awareness about the energy resources and industries in TT, to promote the interest of visitors in TT, its art and craft and to enhance the image of the High Commission and consequently of TT in the key capital city of Ottawa.
Featured will be elements unique to TT’s history and diversity such as our energy, tourism, culture, local paintings, products of trade and industry and other multi-cultural elements such as musical instruments representing the respective ethnic backgrounds.
Information attaché, Elvin Edwards, is responsible for managing the exhibition as well as refreshing the exhibits, and will also be facilitating pre-arranged conducted tours of the facility for schools and groups.
The permanent conference and exhibition centre will be open to the public from Monday to Friday between 10 am and 3 pm.
